Gary started working as an environmental service provider in 2001.  Gary found a passion for helping the community and keeping our area clean from hazardous waste.  It wasn’t long before he found customers were frustrated from lack of support and quality service.  People were not being treated fairly and there was a serious lack of response issue and unfortunate price gouging.

Gary knew he needed to make a change.  That is when he opened up Hero Environmental in June 2020.  It started in a 10x10x10 storage unit, 2 pickup trucks,4 employees, and all during a global pandemic. As expected, work was sporadic since it was a new company in Northern Nevada.  It was even more challenging to build relationships and open a new company.

It was during that time Hero Environmental was contracted by NDOT for roadside cleanup and unlawful homeless camp extraction around the Reno-Sparks area.  Finally!  Gary started building on the values and hopes he had set out to do in our community originally.

Fast forward to two years later, and Hero has expanded to a 3256 sq ft. building with 1936 square feet of that area being a processing warehouse.  With hard work and dedication, they have upgraded to 2 vacuum trucks, 1 roll-off truck, 3 box vans, and 1 dump truck, which has significantly expanded the service capabilities that Hero Environmental provides.

Hero ENV is heavily involved with nonprofit organizations KTMB, Dessert Pigs, Hills Angels and more!  The city of Reno is contracting Hero ENV exclusively for Household Hazardous Waste Disposal.
