HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE
Some leftover or used household products contain chemicals that can present safety concerns if not managed properly. These products are often called household hazardous waste and can include items like:
- Fluorescent light bulbs (including CFLs)
- Fuels (gasoline, propane, diesel)
- Mercury
- Paints (oil-based or some anti-mildew latex)
- Pesticides
- Pool chlorine and acid
- Wood stains or varnishes
- Corrosive Cleaners

We’ll need your address, the type, and the number of materials available for collection. Then we’ll schedule a convenient collection date, and discuss where your materials should be placed for collection. On the scheduled date, our hazardous waste technicians will collect eligible materials directly from your home.
Curbside Collection Service Fee $25.00 (Reno, Sparks, Washoe County) disposal rates apply.*
* The $25.00 Fee is for inside the Mccarren Loop only. Prices change from there.
